About Nutt's Country Cabins

Country Camping Cabins has been Canadian Owned and Operated Since 1996 by Judy Henrickson. Country Camping Cabins has recently transferred hands and has now been renamed to Nutt’s Country Cabins. The new owners are Alex and Sonia Nutt a husband and wife team from Southwestern Ontario and have a strong passion for fishing and the outdoors, along with their past experiences in business, makes this a great match. The new name change is a combination of the new owner’s last name “Nutt” with “Country Cabins” as homage to Judy’s legacy. Alex and Sonia plan to continue with Judy's legacy that we have all come to love about Country Cabins, with still providing great customer service, clean cozy cabins, boat rentals, and a family friendly atmosphere to enjoy while on vacation.

"We can see why customers keep coming back to Judy here at Country Cabins. Her friendly down to earth approach and impeccable customer service that she provides speaks volumes. We plan to continue with her legacy and are excited to learn as much as we can from Judy as she is an inspiration to us. We love her to bits already and look forward to adding her to our family." - Sonia Nutt

Nutt’s Country Cabins is located on Big Vermilion Lake near the town of Sioux Lookout, Ontario and provides spacious cabin rentals, boat rentals, hunting packages and some camping sites for RV’s and tents on 6 acres. The legend of Sioux Lookout’s natural beauty continues today and there is no better place to find relaxation combined with trophy fishing and hunting adventures. If it’s your dream to fish in crystal clear, pristine lakes and rivers with plentiful fish populations, with nobody else around, then Sioux Lookout is the answer and Nutt’s Country Cabins is your perfect destination. This Canadian wilderness is only a 3 ½ hour drive from the Minnesota border and is road accessible.

There is nothing quite like the Northwestern Ontario experience. Just imagine the aroma of fresh coffee in the cabin, maybe a small crackling fire outside your cabin while sitting by the fire enjoying the cool morning air. The mist dances lazily over the lake as you check and adjust your fishing tackle. Off you go with the expectation of great action that renews itself every morning. Trolling into quiet bays, still fish off granite shores, enjoy the taste of a fresh shore lunch and then off again for another chance at the trophy-sized fish.

Guests staying at Nutt’s Country Cabins have access by boat or road access to the many surrounding lakes. The 2 most famous lakes in the area are Big Vermilion and Lac Seul. On Big Vermilion is where you will seek out the giant Canadian Muskie, Trophy Pike, aggressive Smallmouth Bass and the deep water Lake Trout. The other famous lake that our guest fish most from is Lac Seul. Walleye are just everywhere when you venture onto Lac Seul and its just minutes from your cabin at Nutt’s Country Cabins. The fishing on Lac Seul speaks for itself; you only have to fish it once to know what we mean. Lac Seul hosts hundreds of miles of wilderness shoreline, resulting in the finest Walleye and Northern Pike fishing in Ontario.

Aside from the fantastic fishing and hunting opportunities, there are many amenities and great events in the town of Sioux Lookout. There is literally something for everyone to enjoy.
